IMPLANT BRIDGES

If you have several missing teeth, you may have considered wearing a removable partial denture. At Nathan Memmott DDS Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry in Spring, TX, we also offer implant-supported dental bridges as a permanent solution for missing teeth.

What is an Implant Bridge?

An implant bridge is a fixed, multi-tooth dental restoration that is supported by a pair of dental implants. This permanent prosthesis can fill in the space of three or four missing teeth in a row, as either end of the bridge is anchored onto an implant. No removable appliances are necessary.

How Many Implants Are Needed?

The number of implants needed for a dental bridge depends on the number of missing teeth and their location. Because dental implants are extremely durable, two can support a three or four-unit (tooth) bridge, reducing the total number of implants necessary.

How to Choose the Best Implant Treatment

When it comes to choosing the best implant treatment for your needs, it's important to consider factors such as the number of missing teeth, the density of your jawbone, your health history, and your personal preferences and budget. Dr. Memmott can evaluate your situation and recommend the most appropriate tooth replacement treatment option for your smile.

Advantages of Implant Bridges

With an implant-supported bridge, you’re able to:

  • Reduce the total number of implants required to replace your missing teeth.
  • Enjoy a permanent, non-removable tooth replacement.
  • Invest in one of the most durable and cost-effective restorative treatments available.
  • Prevent bone resorption (shrinkage) caused by tooth loss in those spaces.
  • Eat and speak as you normally would, as the restoration matches your natural anatomy.

How to Care For Your Implant Bridge

Plan to brush around your implant bridge twice a day and pay special attention to cleaning the gumlines next to your implants. Use a water flosser or floss threader to clean underneath the bridge and around your respective implants. This will help prevent any gum inflammation, which could lead to peri-implantitis (the implant form of gum disease.)

A Cost-Effective Smile

While the initial cost of an implant-supported dental bridge may be more than other tooth replacement options, it offers one of the best returns on your investment. Implant-supported dental bridges can last a lifetime with proper care, eliminating the need for additional treatments or restorations in the future.

What to Expect With an Implant Bridge:

The process of getting an implant-supported dental bridge typically involves a few different appointments. During your first visit, Dr. Memmott will evaluate your oral health and take a 3D scan to determine if you're a suitable candidate for dental implants. If you are, we will plan a date to surgically place the implants and allow time for them to fuse with the bone. Once the implants have fully integrated with the supporting bone, we will place the bridge onto the implants with a set of abutments.

Say Goodbye to Missing Teeth

If you're missing three or more teeth, an implant-supported dental bridge may be the solution you've been looking for. At Nathan Memmott DDS Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry, we offer high-quality implant-supported dental bridges to help restore your smile and improve your oral health.
